FOREIGN MEDIA POSTS ABOUT KAZAKHSTAN’S SUNKEN FOREST
Foreign citizens are amazed by stunningly beautiful landscape of the Lake Kaindy located 130 kilometers from the city of Almaty. The pictures of the sunken lake have been posted on one of the most popular British tabloids. The publication mentions how such unique natural phenomenon was formed; in particular, it says that the lake was created after an earthquake in 1911. The lake is located 2,000 meters above sea level in Tian Shan Mountains. The lake is 400 meters long and almost 30 meters deep. 100 years old spruces stand in the shiny light blue water. The trees never decay because of the lake’s cold water, that doesn’t exceed 6 degrees Celsius even in the hottest summer day. Kaindy Lake becomes more and more popular among locals and foreign visitors. Tourists are astonished by the clear water, mountains and the green forest surrounding the lake.
