The UN Security Council admitted that Astana Process made Syrian armed groups to continue negotiations. The International Syria Support Group in turn needs to use its power to ensure that ceasefire is holding and people are receiving the UN humanitarian aid. The UN Security Council members declared support for sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Syria.

This Astana process is one of the ways of getting towards the political process in Geneva. And Astana group which includes around Russia and Turkey is the guarantors have competent liquidity to make sure that this is far is ahead. That is a good example of what we are calling on around to do to use this position as a guarantor to Astana process.
Permanent representatives of different countries at the UN headquarters in New York noted that Kazakhstan has accomplished a great job on promotion of a number of important initiatives, and most importantly, continued its peacekeeping mission.

Russian politicians emphasize that one of the main achievements of the Astana process is that Kazakhstan, as a neutral intermediary in the settlement of the Syrian conflict, brought Syrian opposition and the government at the round table. Public figures believe that the meeting in Astana gave hope for peace in the Islamic Republic.

This is the right and expected decision of your President. He has been always promoting peace in difficult moments of international relations. He has always been a leader, a person who has offered right decisions many times. I think this initiative is the outcome of what Kazakhstan has done so far.
Kazakhstan will continue contributing to international efforts in settling Syria conflict.
