Kazakh president’s address under discussion
Modernization 3.0 is a new stage of Kazakhstan’s economic development. According to the former German Ambassador in France Fritjof von Nordenskjöld, Nursultan Nazarbayev’s address in fact is a far-sighted response to global challenges.
FRITJOF VON NORDENSKJOLD, FORMER GERMAN AMBASSADOR TO FRANCE:
The fourth industrial revolution will lead to the automation and digitization of the economy. The world is growing rapidly, the production is automated, and the Kazakh President just in time saw these global changes in the world and promptly took this set of measures. I think it is very important to carry out reforms timely in the economy, education, health care. And we see how widely this address covers all areas. A lot of attention is paid to education, from kindergartens to schools colleges and universities.
The professor of Korean Sungkyunkwan University Eugene Lee also believes that the President’s Address to Kazakhstan’s people is an effective response to global challenges. The expert stresses that Nursultan Nazarbayev set a task to carry out changes in the country that open new broad opportunities for the country. Eugene Lee is particularly impressed by the Kazakh President’s intention to use human capital more efficiently.
EUGENE LEE, PROFESSOR OF SUNGKYUNKWAN UNIVERSITY:
Kazakhstan currently undergoes a very challenging period in its history. There are many changes. The country is becoming a full international member of the global society. And, therefore, all these changes are correct and correspond to these global changes.
Modernization of the economy and innovative technologies will allow Kazakhstan to soon join the ranks of top countries, according to the vice president of the Russian Fund Skolkovo Alexandra Barshchevskaya. The expert says that presently it is the time of innovations. Those countries will sustain competition, that took a course on technological modernization.
ALEXANDRA BARSHCHEVSKAYA, VICE PRESIDENT, SKOLKOVO FUND:
Kazakhstan and its economy have absolutely enormous opportunities. The country is developing very fast and dynamically. This is a very important direction of development of any country, and as we know, thanks to the President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan on the world stage is moving very quickly on the path of development. This progress is not possible without the development of innovations. On the world market today, no country will be competitive if it will not follow the path of innovation-based economy, and will continue the development of the commodity economy.
The Kazakh President’s address is aimed at creating conditions within which small and medium-sized businesses will be comfortably and profitably involved in production. Such an opinion was expressed by entrepreneurs working in the EAEU countries.
MAIRA SALYKOVA, CHAIRPERSON, MEDIA SYSTEM GROUP:
It includes the development of mass family business, attracting people in business - micro, medium, small, and very importantly, is attraction of more people in business. Formation of a very important message - to achieve 50% of GDP by 2050 in the small and medium business is a significant challenge that we must meet.
