LEVAN PAVLENISHVILI, EXPERT ON RENEWABLE ENERGY:
More than 100 countries have confirmed their participation in the EXPO 2017. There will be representatives of various sectors. We will have a great opportunity to show our developments and attract investors. I am sure that our country is very attractive in terms of the alternative energy sources such as solar, water, and wind power, it has great potential. I think that Kazakh-Georgian cooperation in this field will reach a new level.
Georgia has confirmed its participation in EXPO 2017 half year ago. At present, Georgian energy ministry is actively working on the Astana exposition’s concept. The Georgian Ministry says, there is only a detailed plan of the project but it will be implemented soon, probably, with the involvement of international experts.
TAMAR JANASHIA, REPRESENTATIVE, GEORGIAN ENERGY MINISTRY:
Expo is not just a simple event – it is a high level international exhibition. Georgia’s very last participation in it was in 2010 in Shanghai. The Astana Expo’s concept ‘Future Energy’ is very close to us because alternative energy occupied an important niche in Georgian economy. Our project’s concept will be built on the development of renewable energy sources. The emphasis will be given to Georgian transit potential.
Georgia is preparing cultural events that will be held as part of Astana EXPO 2017. It is known that each participating country will be given several days for presentation of national heritage. The Georgian will please the visitors with their vivid dancing, unique polyphonic singing and, of course, the world-famous traditional cuisine.
