11th youth talent festival Shattyk was held in Astana. The age of the competition participants ranged between 10 to 20 years. The competition was held in such nominations as choral singing, modern dance, poetry, theater, photography, and art and fashion design. The jury was the famous artists of Kazakhstan, teachers and universities staff. The most talented young people were waiting for a reward, special golden statuettes. According to the organizers, the competition is becoming more popular every year. This year it was attended by children from more than 100 educational institutions of Astana.
ANUAR ZHANGOZIN, DEPUTY HEAD, ASTANA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION:
More than 6,000 applications were submitted this year, we selected 4,000 participants. The winners will be announced later. The whole festival is permeated with the theme of EXPO 2017. For us, teachers, the energy of the future generation is one of the most important and highly prioritized. Therefore, the festival is aimed at discovering new talents.
AIDANA MARDENOVA, PARTICIPANT:
I perform Kazakh national and Uzbek dances. This year I performed Kazakh and Tatar dances. I want to win but participation is important too.
33gold, 55 silver and 75 bronze medals are up in the competition. The best teachers and creative collectives of Astana received awards as well.
