Preparation for Universiade 2017 underway
Almaty airport prepares to welcome foreign delegations ahead of the Universiade. According to experts, it will take no more than one minute for the competition’s participant to pass border control in the airport. With this aim, additional cabins to check documents were opened at the airport.
NAIL NUROV, HEAD OF DIRECTORATE, UNIVERSIADE 2017:
Five cabins will serve only the Universiade participants. If necessary, the Border Service will add 10 more cabins to register faster. Estimated time for a Universiade guest to go through passport control is less than one minute.
In addition to the police, the National Guard’s troops will ensure the safety. During the Student Games, the Guards will be on duty in all eight districts of Almaty.
NIYAZTAI ALKESHEV, SENIOR STAFF, SOUTHERN REGIONAL COMMAND:
Our soldiers learnt the English language. If the guests or tourists ask them for help, they will be able to answer them.
