IRENA UAE signs contract on participation in EXPO 2017
The International Renewable Energy Agency officially confirmed its participation in the Expo in Astana. The Director General of the organization Adnan Amin and the Commissioner of Expo 2017 Rapil Zhoshybayev have signed a relevant agreement. The organization has a special interest in the exhibition’s theme, and facilitates Kazakhstan’s transition to green economy.
ADNAN AMIN, DIRECTOR-GENERAL, INTERNATIONAL RENEWABLE ENERGY AGENCY:
First of all let me say, it will be a great honor for me personally to welcome his Excellency President Nazarbayev to Abu Dhabi and espcecially to IRENA headquarters. It is pleasure to visit Astana before. I was very impressed to see the government of Kazakhstan and its leadership.
RAPIL ZHOSHYBAYEV, COMMISSIONER, INTERNATIONAL SPECIALIZED EXHIBITION EXPO 2017:
I think that IRENA will present many interesting projects. The organization will significantly contribute to our fair and is ready to receive our specialists in the field of renewable energy. Of course, they will help in volunteer work and will also work within the road map for Kazakhstan’s transition to green economy.
The need for renewable energy development is an urgent one. The heads of states and international experts stress Kazakhstan’s visionary and timely step to choose alternative energy as the theme of the upcoming international exhibition of 2017. The National Pavilion of the United Arab Emirates is exciting: the world’s largest developer of exhibitions and museum designs - “Ralph Appelbaum Associates” was invited to develop the concept planning and design of the national pavilion.
SALEM AL-AMERI, COMMISSIONER OF UAE EXPO NATIONAL PAVILION:
We will have one of the biggest pavilions on the Expo. We are completely ready for this event. We are hoping to be one of the most succseful pavilions.
The United Arab Emirates was the first country in the Middle East to have officially confirmed its participation in the exhibition. In total, according to the Expo 2017 Commissioner Rapil Zhoshybayev, 112 countries and 18 international organizations will have their pavilions in Astana.
