The best Kazakh and Russian creative teams performed in Astana. A gala concert organized by the UNESCO French Cultural Association "Esplanade" was held in "Zhastar" concert hall. Talented children and artists participated in the 4-day contest. Nearly 1,500 people demonstrated their talents in dance, theater arts and plasticity. Three teams won the contest awards. They are children's dombra ensemble "Zhuldyz" from Kostanay, children's musical academy from Almaty and choreographic team "Nomad" from Astana.
ELVIRA SVIRIDOVA-YAMANIDI, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, FRENCH CULTURAL ASSOCIATION ‘ESPLANADE’:
We promote multi genre competitions, manifestations. The teams came from everywhere - from Shymkent, Pavlodar, Ekibastuz, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Astrakhan, and, of course, there are many teams from Astana. Firstly, such competitions expand boundaries because it brings together the representatives of all nationalities here, this is a multicultural event. There is a huge mix.
BAUYRZHAN TAGANOV, CONTESTANT:
I represent a dance troupe ‘Altyn Batyr’ from Karaganda. We perform in various genres, for instance, we dance ‘Victory’ and ‘Kamazhai’ dances. This competition provides an opportunity to demonstrate our skills at international level and awaken in people a desire to learn dancing.
According to the organizers, the winners will advance to Grand Finale which will be held in Saint-Petersburg in April next year. The most outstanding artists will be invited to Paris with their solo projects.
