Nursultan NAZARBAYEV, PRESIDENT OF KAZAKHSTAN:
Karaganda steel mill is the first mill in the ferrous metallurgy of Kazakhstan. It is one of the best enterprises of the former USSR. Production here will reach 6 million tons of steel per year. There are high expectations since the biggest 4th blast furnace started to operate after repair. I send greetings to all of you. The transport facilities within the Nurly Zhol program are very important for us. The railway Shu-Almaty increases the train passage twofold. It was our purpose from long ago. But there were no funds, and now the project is implemented. Kuryk port is our way to the Caucasus and Europe. It is also a long-awaited project, which is very essential for Kazakhstan, for development of industrialization. I congratulate everybody with this great success ahead of the 25th anniversary of independence. I wish you good health and success in your work.
