More than 2,000 social projects are being implemented in Kazakhstan within the state support. Over 42 billion Tenge has been allocated for their implementation from the republican and regional budgets. State authorities and public associations discussed these and other questions of cooperation between civil society and the government bodies at the seventh Civil Society Forum.
Imangali TASMAGAMBETOV, KAZAKH DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER:
Another aspect which I would like to draw your attention to is the socialization of the repatriates returning to Kazakhstan. The government and NGOs also have a large untapped potential here. Our countrymen need help in preparation of documents, training and social adaptation. The role of the NGOs seems crucial in this regard.
Increasing the role of civil society is the most important goal for the country. It is indicated in the national plan 100 concrete steps.
Gulshara ABDYKALIKOVA, KAZAKH STATE SECRETARY:
In the jubilee year of the 25th independence anniversary, the country sums up the whole development path. An important part of its great success is related to the contribution of civil society. Civil Society Forums formed the national movement of Kazakhstani citizens who solve important problems of the country through their hard work and initiatives.
The forum completed a number of regional activities of non-governmental organizations. During the meetings in the regions, the NGO representatives determined the ways to address issues and put forward some recommendations.
