Book about Kazakhstan presented in Ukraine
A book about Kazakhstan 'The Central Asian Leopard' was presented in Kiev. Its author is the famous Ukrainian publicist and researcher Nikolai Stepanenko. The book is a documentary narative of Kazakhstan's development stages, its economic modernization, formation of democratic society and foreign policy priorities. A separate chapter is devoted to the establishment of the Kazakh-Ukrainian relations that are characterized as 'a friendship that stood the test of time'. Ukrainian experts also note a particular success of the reforms conducted in Kazakhstan in social and political spheres, which first of all are reflected in the citizens' lives.
Alexander PUKHKAL, DOCTOR OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION:
The standards of living of Kazakhstani citizens has grown threefold over the last ten years, while it has grown slowly or even declined in the majority of the former Soviet Union countries.
Nikolai STEPANENKO, BOOK AUTHOR, HEAD OF INTERSTATE RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF UKRAINIAN-KAZAKH RELATIONS:
I have had the idea of writing this book for a long time, so that Ukrainians could learn more about the neighbouring country, so that the Ukrainians knew more about Kazakhstan, to remind them about our common historical roots, our long history of collaboration.
