Republican campaign marks 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence
The republican campaign is underway to mark the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence. As part of the campaign, special thematic days are held across the country. One of them is dedicated to the state symbols. One million Kazakhstanis sang the national anthem simultaneously. More than 600,000 young people were from southern Kazakhstan.
Kanatbek DOSALIEV, DIRECTOR OF COLLEGE:
Every citizen should know the national anthem, respect state symbols of our country. Therefore, not only today, but every day our students start with the anthem.
The history of the national symbols was discussed at the highest level as well. The members of the republican commission on state symbols have presented interesting facts. For example, Kazakh compatriots carried Kazakhstan's flag 4,000 times on victorious paths of the world sporting competitions. With the astronaut Aidyn Aimbetov, the flag circled the Earth 150 times.
One of the 25 anniversary events was the day dedicated to the state border. The country with a centuries-old history has achieved a clear outline of its territory. This was discussed across all the regions of Kazakhstan. For example, Almaty professors and students of the Academy of the Frontier Service of the National Security Committee marched solemnly.
Muratbek SERIKBAEV, DEPUTY HEAD OF REGIONAL COMMAND 'VOSTOK':
The Kazakh President had held talks for a decade with all the presidents of the neighboring countries, and our border was fully marked.
Another day of the campaign in Kazakhstan was dedicated to the state language. Competitions on knowledge of the Kazakh language were held across all regions. One of the most popular is the republican contest "Til-Parasat". In 8 years, the number of its participants has increased tenfold. The contest was a starting point for many finalists's carrers.
In Kyzylorda, the students of Russian schools discussed the main achievements of Kazakhstan's independence. The best essay, written as a result of the discussions, will be presented in Astana.
