25 years of Kazakhstan’s Independence is the history of great achievements. The country intends to continue its progress. Kazakh Ministry of National Economy has already developed the New Strategy of Economic Development of Kazakhstan until 2025. Its concept is being discussed with the experts’ community. It consists of five priorities and includes 20 initiatives that form 21 national indicators. Thus, the Ministry aims to increase the citizens’ welfare and the government’s task is to bring GDP per capita to $35,000 at purchasing power parity. In addition, entrepreneurs will receive more opportunities due to the basic provisions of Kazakhstan’s Strategic Development Plan. Business lending rate will be reduced to 6-8% in Kazakhstan. Thus, up to one million Kazakhstan citizens will be able to start their businesses and become self-employed. At the same time the share of small and medium-sized businesses in the GDP will increase from 25% to 35%.
Kuandyk BISHIMBAYEV, KAZAKH MINISTER OF NATIONAL ECONOMY:
This is in the expansion of micro lending coverage in rural areas. You know that the Ministry of Agriculture is creating cooperatives out of private farms in the villages. This creates a basement for market relations in rural areas.
This is planned to be achieved through the expansion of volumes and improvement of micro-lending mechanisms. If the banking sector infrastructure is introduced in the cities then a single micro-lending operator will be created in rural areas.
