The capacity of the seaport of Kazakhstan increased threefold

During 25 years of independence, Kazakhstan has achieved great progress in its economic development. The key factors of success were the government programs aimed at the development of regions. During 25 years, Mangystau region has made a big economic leap. Previously, the region was considered a supplier of uranium, oil and gas, and eventually the region has turned into the main sea gate of Kazakhstan. Aktau seaport on the Caspian Sea has given an economic impetus to development of the whole region. Today, due to the shipment of large volumes of cargo, the port was extended to the north. Due to it, the capacity of the seaport of Kazakhstan increased threefold.

The commissioned grain terminal is the largest in the Caspian region with grain capacity of up to 60,000 tons, with the possibility of one-time unloading of carriages from two railways and grain handling on a ship with the capacity of 500 tons per hour. The existing capacities of the terminal allow providing annual handling up to 1.5 million tons of general cargo and 1.5 million tons of grain crops.

Now, thanks to the implementation of state programs, including completion of ‘Beineu-Shetpe’ highway, which connected our region with automobile communication with other regions of Kazakhstan. Construction of railway ‘Uzen-Turkmenistan-Iran’ has been completed, which provides a link from Kazakhstan to the Persian Gulf, to the Indian Ocean.

Kostanay region also achieved some impressive results. Only in the last six years, 82 projects were implemented in the region as part of the program of industrial-innovative development. Almost 5,000 jobs were created. Gross regional product has also grown. Since 1991, it has increased by 363 times by more than 294 billion tenge. In animal husbandry, cattle productivity increased by almost 2.5 times. Furthermore, mining of iron ore, bauxite, and asbestos are being developed in the region. The Industrialization Map includes 82 projects worth 1 trillion tenge. One of the largest productions to be launched is a full cycle automobile factory. The project will develop the existing car assembly industry and will be a breakthrough in the domestic mechanical engineering. It is expected that the annual GDP growth will reach 370 billion tenge after the launch of the company. Mini-tractors manufacturing was launched in Zaisan district last year. The domestic mini-tractors are 20% cheaper than their foreign analogues. In addition, the region is the main producer of vegetable oil, honey and milk in Kazakhstan.
