Kazakhstan, Slovakia to establish business council
Kazakhstan and Slovakia are planning to establish a Business Council. According to experts, this will lead to intensifying trade and economic relations. In addition, bilateral B2B format meetings between the entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan and Slovakia are aimed to enhance the interaction. 15 leading Slovak companies, representing such industries as agriculture, healthcare, construction and mechanical engineering already participated in meetings.

The foreign trade turnover in 2015 reached 41.2 million euros. I believe that the next years there will be a period of stabilization and gradual growth. As an example of targeted cooperation in the green economy, there is a successful project on cleaning a reserve pond ‘Shchuchye’ in Burabay nature reserve.

25 joint Kazakh-Slovak companies are operating in Kazakhstan. They work successfully in various industries, in the energy, construction, modernization of our enterprises, in healthcare. We are also interested to work in the tourism sector. We know that there are mineral springs, beautiful places in Slovakia.
During the talks, one of the Slovak defense-industrial enterprises offered Kazakhstan a modern technology recycling and disassembling ammunition. According to experts, the project is unique due to its safety, environmental friendliness, and most importantly, its economic benefits. After dismantling, the explosives and gunpowder can be suitable for further use.

We do not only manufacture new weapons and ammunition, but also recycle and repair ammunition. Jointly with Kazakhstan we intend to launch a recycling plant.
The representatives of the Kazakh tourism industry offered Slovak entrepreneurs to invest in the development of domestic tourism. They told the participants of the meeting about the prospective areas that are very popular among foreign visitors.

The most popular tourism destinations in Kazakhstan are the cities of Astana and Almaty, featuring beautiful sights, future Expo and museums. Also, foreign tourists are interested in wildlife vacation. They prefer journeys to Kazakhstan’s pristine destinations, for instance, Beket-ata in Ustyurt Plateau in Aktau.
The representatives of business community of the two countries expressed confidence that the new agreement on expanded partnership and cooperation between the EU and Kazakhstan will be the beginning of a new stage of relations. This year, also the ratification of the bilateral agreement on mutual protection of investments was completed, and according to experts, it will be another impetus for the expansion of economic cooperation.
