Modernization of plants in Kazakhstan opens new markets
Modernization of plants opens new sales markets for Kazakh manufacturers. Concentration plant "Vostochnaya" in Karaganda region is a bright example. More than 6 billion tenge was invested in equipment renewal in the factory. Just one month after the launch, the company has produced about 250,000 tons of coal concentrate to make coke needed for smelting iron and steel. The plant also produces high-ash coal. New flotation machines extract a concentrate from coal to increase output by 2-3%.

Temirtau Metallurgical plant is the main customer of course. We also send the concentrate to Krivoi Rog, Ukraine, to ‘Altai-koks’ in Russia, Novolipetsk and we have also sent small batches to China.
Aktobe ferroalloy plant intends to increase production. It plans to manufacture 440,000 tons of high-carbon ferrochrome. The manufacturing of this particular product is prioritized in the country’s mining industry. The 4th workshop reaches the designed capacity after modernization, with a help of new technologies that not only help to increase production but also to reduce the volume of ash.

This allows smelting, making metal in the amount that is twice more than the existing production. There is no need for special ore preparation. This method does not require additional production.
Aktobe ferroalloy plant’s products have already become popular worldwide. Up to 60% is exported to China; the rest is delivered to Europe and the United States. In addition, production costs decreased after the launch of the fourth workshop, and the percentage of local content reached 100%.
