First EXPO-2017 pavilions handed over to China, France, Germany, Hungary and Turkey

Kazakhstan is looking forward hosting its first world’s fair next year. Hosting international events is not only a promotional tool for the hosting country but an enormous responsibility. The most crucial task for the Expo organizers is to commission the facilities in due time. Meanwhile, China, France, Germany, Hungary and Turkey have already received their pavilions. Their total area is almost half a million square meters. Solemn ceremony of handing over five exhibition sections to the commissioners of the participating countries was held in Astana. Construction of the main sphere-shaped building where Kazakhstan’s pavilion will be located is nearing completion. As organizers say, the central building will become a sample project on green technologies application. According to Astana Expo chairman Akhmetzhan Yessimov, construction of Expo town, exhibition offices, Interior Affairs Department and the Center for Energy Research have already been completed.

Akhmetzhan YESSIMOV, CHAIRMAN, ASTANA EXPO-2017 JSC:

222 days left before the opening of the exhibition. We have started commissioning the pavilions. I think there is enough time to fill the pavilions.

The representatives of the countries that received their pavilions will start preparing them in the near future. The participating countries are working on the content of their pavilions. The content is the most substantial part of the upcoming exhibition showcasing all the recent developments in clean and alternative energy sector.

Wang JINZHEN, NATIONAL COMMISSIONER FOR CHINA’S EXPO-2017 PAVILION:

What Chinese is going to exhibit, we welcome you to come and visit China’s pavilion to see.

105 states and 17 international organizations have confirmed their participation in the Expo-2017.
