Kazakhstan’s automotive industry gains momentum
The production of vehicles in the country is increasing. According to the report by Oleg Alferov, the Head of Kazautoprom, about 4,000 vehicles, a total 36.6 billion tenge were produced in the last six months. Freight transport, passenger vehicles and buses are produced at this plant. Almost a quarter of all consumers choose vehicles of domestic production. Thus Kia, Lada, Hyundai, Skoda and Peugeot are included in top five best –selling vehicles.

In January 2016, the volume of production of domestic automotive enterprises did not exceed 404 units, whereas by the end of June it was 1,136 vehicles. The production capacity of passenger cars has increased by 37% in June.
Meanwhile, the construction of the automotive cluster with capacity up to 120,000 cars a year is underway. According to the Ministry for Investment and Development more than $55 million was invested in the project, which created about 12,000 new jobs. Experts estimate that the annual national budget will be filled out by more than $1 billion.

We see that the country is engaged in vehicle assembling, but also producing the vehicle components. The bulk of the products will be exported to Russia and Central Asian countries. It’s scheduled to launch the first production in 2018.
