Kazakhstan national medical form’s application starts in May
Kazakh Ministry of Health is introducing a free online directory of medicines in May this year. Kazakh national medical form’s application will envisage all benefits and risks of medicines. To date, it lists already more than 600 drugs. Of these, almost two-thirds are medicines are produced in Kazakhstan. According to developers, this should have a positive influence on the treatment.
Alexey TSOY, KAZAKH VICE MINISTER OF HEALTHCARE AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT:
There were quite many reports that Kazakhstan’s market of drugs is being poorly regulated. This is done to streamline the activities and provide a quality register of medicines to both citizens and the professional community.
Experts from Europe and New Zealand, as well as the UK developers were involved in the creation of the medical form’s application. One can find the instructions on the use of drugs and treatment on www.knf.kz on site, where all information is available in Kazakh and Russian languages.
Duncan ENRIGHT, EXPERT (UNITED KINGDOM):
It is a key part of the ministers’ ambitions to give doctors in Kazakhstan a way access to the most up-to-date government approved medicines information, in a way which will be a real benefit for doctors and patients.
