Experts positively evaluate new resource pricing method in construction
Experts have positively evaluated the new method of determining the costs of resources in construction, which was used in Kazakhstan since July last year. The method has helped the country to develop over 400 projects, experts stressed; most of them received positive expert feedback.
The method was developed by the Ministry of National Economy as part of the Plan of the Nation -- 100 Concrete Steps program. The new model is to perform calculations for the construction industry taking into account the actual prices of the materials and equipment as well as workers’ wages. According to experts, such data will objectively reflect the dynamically developing market conditions in the world today. The state will get the most reliable information on the cost of investment projects.
Baurzhan ZHANUZAKOV, DIRECTOR, CENTER FOR PRICING IN CONSTRUCTION, ‘KAZNIISA’ JSC:
We have collected almost 2,000 projects that are being implemented in Kazakhstan. On the basis of the design estimates, for example 10 schools, we have taken these standards defined them and multiplied them by the current prices. Once the price of the estimates is determined we have the real cost of constructing a school. Say we will have one seat for one student in each region ... Let’s assume one seat in Taldykorgan will cost whatever.... We multiply it by by 1200, or 600 seats and get a more accurate figure for the forecast.
