‘Heritage Of Ancestors’ ethno project
Representatives of the museum of local history in Karagandy offer to delve into the atmosphere of the 19th century. The ethnographic project titled "The Heritage of the Ancestors" introduces visitors to ancient rituals and customs of the Kazakhs. Set in the Kazakh yurt, actors theatrically introduce visitors to traditions and share the secrets of cooking national dishes. The decoration of the yurt was recreated with the help of original exhibits and some of the items were used two centuries ago. The decorative and applied crafts of the Kazakh people are presented at the exhibition.
ZAURESH TEBAYEVA, SPOKESPERSON, MUSEUM OF LOCAL HISTORY OF KARAGANDA REGION:
- We want to demonstrate the tangible cultural properties of the Kazakh people. We have a lot of unique exhibits of the 19th century. According to the Modernization of Public Consciousness program, this project is underway.
MEIRAMGUL BAIDUISENOVA, STAFF, MUSEUM OF LOCAL HISTORY OF KARAGANDA REGION:
- Decorative and applied crafts of the Kazakh people are presented here. We can see handmade carpets, mills, samovars and chests. The audience doesn’t have access to these exhibits during typical days. Therefore, during the national holiday, we organized such an exhibition.
