Miktykol Primary School has opened a small museum in the Shortandy district of the Akmola region. The repository of historical values is placed in a yurt - the house of nomads. The exhibits were donated by the local villagers. They contain the relics of the daily life, hunting clothing and equipment, kitchen utensils, ornamented household items. This project is an initiative of the administration of the school. The educators are sure the museum will help the school children to better learn the national traditions.
DOSAN BEKEI, DIRECTOR, MIKTYKOL PRIMARY SCHOOL:
- Numerous parents and teachers helped to establish this yurt in our school. Every parent was of great help. It wasn’t only about assembling the yurt inside the building. Everyone also brought from valuable items from home. The collection of exhibits will not just stay here. History teachers will conduct additional classes dedicated to each exhibit item.
SERIKBAY ZANGAR, SCHOOL STUDENT:
- At the exhibition I got acquainted with many things that I had never heard of before. I also learned that the old irons were like this. I saw other interesting things. If we did not have this exhibition, we probably would not know how our ancestors had lived, their lifestyle.
