Transition Kazakh language from Cyrillic to Latin is a very important step
According to member of Mazhilis, Sauytbek Abdrakhmanov, Kazakhstan is continuing discussion on the transition to the Latin script. He says that the transition of the Kazakh language from Cyrillic to Latin is a very important step. The decision is up to date and owing to which Kazakhtan opens new horizons, says member of Mazhilis.
SAUYTBEK ABDRAKHMANOV, MEMBER OF MAZHILIS:
- This initiative proves that the President's policy is aimed at development of people and the country as a whole. The new version is much better. Now there is a large amount of work on the gradual transition to Latin.
The gradual introduction of the new alphabet will be implemented in all areas. Linguists claim that Kazakhs will easily master the new script. In addition, the approved Kazakh alphabet of 32 characters in Latin will give a new impetus to further development.
ASKAR ABDUALY, PROVOST, TARAZ STATE UNIVERSITY:
- Linguists should coordinate the concept of the transition to Latin. In addition, the courses should be organized to study Kazakh based on the Latin script. Of course, it is impossible to carry out such work in a short time but the first steps must be taken. This can help media and in my opinion, we should use the possibilities of outdoor advertising. This will allow people of Kazakhstan to adapt quickly.
