10 Teams Selected to Present in Singapore under the Smart Zholy Acceleration Program
10 winning teams of the Smart Zholy acceleration program have been selected to present their start-up projects in Singapore on May 24th and May 25th.
The presentation in Singapore will provide the finalist teams a chance to search for foreign buyers or partners as well as attract investments necessary for their business expansion.
One of the winners, Azamat Galymzhanov said his team created biometric ATMs and biometric identification system.
“We take the ID, take a person’s photo and we verify if it’s the same person who provided the ID. The verification is based on the person’s unique features,” he said, adding that the system can be used for different purposes such as security.
Another winner, Moldir Kusainova said her team developed a service to sell tickets at its cost price without commission.
The sale includes tickets to concerts, theatres, cinemas and sporting events.
“The trip to Singapore is an opportunity for us to find investors and expand our service. We plan to enter Uzbekistan,” she said.
For three years, the Smart Zholy acceleration program under the First President Foundation has given opportunity to young Kazakh entrepreneurs to showcase their projects worldwide to find venture capital investors.
This year, 60 teams took part in the program with over 250 participants from different regions of Kazakhstan.
In three years, a total of 230 teams have participated in the program.
