Green innovations by Kazakh students

Kazakh students, Kuanysh Kyrykbayev and Zharaskhan Kuanyshuly have developed an interesting program. The development is a modern intelligent device for transferring data from energy enumerating devices to service companies. The invention with 100% Kazakh content is low cost and can solve problems of import substitution.

KUANYSH KYRYKBAYEV, STUDENT, SULEYMAN DEMIREL UNIVERSITY:

 - These radio modems are installed to existing enumerators which will be connected to our common networks, called LoRaWAN and NB-IоT. These are new technologies that are used throughout the world. Our network transmits all data to a single information system of the center of housing and utilities.

Developers say that the smart device will reduce the risk of errors in accounts calculation. It will also provide efficiency and transparency as well as allow the saving on utility bills by taking into account the resources that were actually consumed. Advantages include the ability to install radio modems on the installed enumerators (without changing them to new ones). There is also a reliable digital protection against hacking. Initiatives of the young Kazakh innovators have received support as part of the Year of Youth.

BAKYTZHAN SALIMOV, SENIOR STAFF, KAZAKH CENTER OF HOUSING AND UTILITIES:

 - The students got off to a good start. To date, they have taken part in a number of competitions. Their project is being applied well and large companies have expressed interest. Material support was provided such as small purchase of pilot copies, finding industrial organizations that will mass-produce the product in the future. The radio modem transmitter of developers has several advantages over their competitors.

According to the Kazakh Center of Housing and Utilities, the transfer system will effectively plan and allocate resources and will lay the foundation for transition to green economy. (The development has been tested in one of the residential complexes in the capital). In the near future, the project will be implemented in apartment buildings in Astana and throughout Kazakhstan.
