Green technologies in action
A number of renewable energy projects are currently being implemented in all regions of Kazakhstan. Entrepreneurs of the Kostanai region are actively using green technologies and alternative energy sources. Businesses have managed to cut energy costs by half due to the sun and wind sources. For example, electricity of a recreation area with nearly 1,500 square meters is generated from green technologies. Businesswoman, Galina Schneider installed the first solar batteries in the area four years ago. Currently, there are more than 20 solar batteries in the perimeter of the recreation area. The businesswoman recently purchased the Bolotov rotary wind turbine.
GALINA SCHNEIDER, ENTREPRENEUR:
- We have such a smart system. In total, 5 kW of wind and 5 kW of the sun are generated. Up to 6 kWh of electricity are produced. Obviously, we are benefiting from this.
The entrepreneur spent more than five million Tenge on the installation of all alternative energy sources. This is the only green project in the Kostanai district. Local authorities are preparing for more similar projects.
ANUARBEK KASIMOV, DEPUTY GOVERNOR, KOSTANAI DISTRICT:
- We are developing a project for the installation of smart benches in places where people gather, particularly, the embankment of the Kostanai district.
The introduction of electric vehicles will help solve ecological problems. Next year green vehicles will be launched in the Kostanai Automobile Plant. Experimental models of electric cars have proved their ecological as well as economic viabilities. It takes 40 kilowatts to charge the electric car which is cheaper than gasoline.
MIHAILS KVETNIS, MANAGING DIRECTOR FOR DEVELOPMENT:
- We master the production of the first electric vehicles and serial certificated vehicles in the Customs Union, which will be produced serially and which can be sold throughout the customs union. We are ahead of all car factories on the territory of the Eurasian zone.
As part the Astana EXPO-2017 projects, the construction of electric stations has begun in Almaty. There are 19 electric stations in the city. According to experts, the charging device is compact, which can be placed even at home. Today, 500 electric vehicles are registered in Almaty.
YERLAN OMAROV, DIRECTOR, TRADE DEPARTMENT, ALMATY MAYOR’S OFFICE:
- It takes about 5-7 hours to charge one car. The cost of the full charge ranges from 1,500 to 2,000 Tenge. In general, many power stations are installed in our shopping malls. This is for the convenience of citizens, since a person arriving in a shopping mall can leave a car in a parking lot for the charge.
Meanwhile, the launch of a waste sorting plant is also important. The project costs almost 5.5 billion Tenge. Experts said that the development of green economy is fully stimulated in Kazakhstan with the introduction of the new technologies.
