Kazakhstan is interested in cooperating with China’s IT companies
Kazakhstan is interested in cooperating with China’s IT companies. This was voiced during the interview with a governor of the Astana International Financial Center given to Kazakh TV at the Boao Forum for Asia. According to Kairat Kelimbetov, the Digital Kazakhstan program is being successfully implemented in the republic. However, projects in the electronic commerce have just started developing in the region. The partnership with the Chinese leaders of the IT industry will help to accelerate the digital transformation in Kazakhstan.
KAIRAT KELIMBETOV, GOVERNOR, ASTANA INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL CENTER:
- Transferring technologies from the Chinese companies to Kazakhstan would be very useful. The companies like Tencent have implemented advanced technologies. The WeChat messenger allows not only exchanging messages, but also paying for services. I think that this is our future, which will significantly change the landscape and the financial sector as well as simplify people’s lives and will lead Kazakhstan to the further point of its development. We would like to establish appropriate cooperation and create the conditions for the Chinese Internet giants in our market.
