Astana hosted ABC Hackaton with a prize fund of one million tenge
Astana hosted ABC Hackaton with a prize fund of one million tenge. More than 120 developers and designers from all over the country took part in an unusual competition. The competition aims to develop and present authentic projects within 24 hours for the Kazakh companies that acted as partners of the contest. Participants can work individually or in a team up to three people. In total, the contestants developed more than 40 projects. According to results of the hackathon, the best ideas will be realized at Technopark of Nazarbayev University. ABC Hack was held for the second time. This is not only a competition for developers, but also a platform for sharing experiences. As part of the event, the region's leading experts conducted master classes.

- This competition’s difference from the scientific computing Olympiad is in the fact that IT industry of Kazakhstan sets a goal in order to identify and to attract talents as well as to provide possible internships and future employment of teams and people in these companies.
IBRAGIM ILYASOV, CONTESTANT:
- For example, one company has an online store with shares. The company shows these shares to its users. When we find out who the user is, what he or she does, we will provide the shares. The goal is to supply shares based on geolocation. If the user trains in the gym for five hours, he or she might be a coach and may be interested in sports nutrition.
