Astana Expo 2017 has an Energy Best Practices Area on its territory. The solutions presented here can change people’s attitudes to the ways of generating electricity. Nearly 100 inventors fought for the right to demonstrate their technological developments in the expo town. The competent jury members selected 24 strongest projects. For example, the electric scooters that aren’t on the market yet but manufacturers have already made orders for more than 2 thousand pieces. The exhibition showcased five of these electric scooters. Every guest of the expo has a chance to ride the scooters. According to guides, there are more than a hundred people daily wishing to take a ride. The speed of the scooter reaches 25 kilometers per hour.



- It is completely clean without any exhaust which is its main advantage.  The scooter works on licensed batteries and it has the impulse engine. This means when you stand, you can push off without gas. Then engine will feel your impulses and adjust to this impulse.


This is not the only technique of Energy Best Practices Area which attract visitors to the expo. The so-called Solar rickshaw is one means of transportation in the exhibition. The oldest mode of transport operates on solar panels. In order to regulate the speed it is necessary to pedal only.

The Kazakh inventors have presented two projects. Some startups are invented by well-known scientists, while others by students. Every project has its own feature. Nevertheless, their goal remains the same which is to change the idea of humanity about the ways of producing electricity. Even in this case, nature comes to help the modern life.

Plants not only decorate the house, but also lower the fee for utilities. For example, these ficuses are able to generate as much energy as necessary to light a lamp. The Spanish startup, Bioo, presented this method in Energy Best Practices Area. The wires are attached to the bottom of the pot on a special panel which consist of copper and graphite. However, in order to receive light, this isn’t enough. It is necessary to ensure an active process of photosynthesis. For this purpose, it essential to water the plant, loosen the ground and put the pot under direct sunlight. The more active the chemical process, the more electricity will give the flower.



- A pigment chlorophyll which makes the plant appear green absorbs the quanta of light. Further the light reaches the roots and turns into an electron. Electrons interact with each other under the influence of light and water which results in electricity production. Electricity is the flow of electrons.


The more plants there are, the more light can be received. If this panel is installed on an area of 100 square meters, then there will be enough energy for the entire house. The collection of electricity occurs without any harm to the plants. The process is environmentally friendly and completely non-wasteful. Therefore, the use of these technologies can really become the energy of the future. Even on weekdays, at least a thousand people visit the Energy Best Practices Area.
