SMART INFRASTRUCTURE AT ASTANA EXPO 2017
EXPO 2017 facilities will become the most technologically advanced area in Astana after the exhibition. Some innovative projects developed specifically for the largest international event will become publicly available. For example, "smart" energy systems project implemented as part of the exhibition will later work for the benefit of Astana residents. It includes 50 substations with a single control center that redistributes the energy load and reduces the loss of electricity during transportation up to 30%.
DANIYAR ASHIROV, SPOKESPERSON, ASTANA EXPO 2017 NC:
- The main advantages of the Smart Grid project are the integration of renewable energy sources into the city’s power supply grid. Expo’s renewable energy sources, namely the solar and the wind power stations, integrated into the main exhibition pavilion, as well as a stand-alone 200 kWh solar power plant will supply electricity to other facilities located nearby.
Another "smart" project will help to organize the parking. "Smart" system will let exhibition visitors book parking lots in advance using special displays, and pay electronically. The system also controls the entry and the exit.
VLADIMIR SOBOLEV, SPOKESPERSON, ASTANA EXPO 2017 NC:
- It means that a person can find and book a free parking lot on the way to the exhibition. In case if there are not any free parking lots the cars will be redirected to the additional parking areas located nearby.
According to EXPO "smart" projects developers, all their ideas are designed to improve the quality of life of Kazakhstan citizens. They believe that the exhibition complex facilities will be a good example of the use of renewable energy sources.
