Kazakhstan records 980 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

According to Kazakh Health Ministry, 980 more COVID-19 cases were registered in Kazakhstan in the last 24 hours. 502 of them are cases with no clinical symptoms of infection. Nur-Sultan, Almaty and East Kazakhstan region continue to have the highest number of new infections with 186, 175 and 92 positive coronavirus cases recorded in the past day, respectively. 26 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Shymkent in the last 24 hours, 31 in Akmola region, two in Aktobe region, 46 in Almaty region, 44 in Atyrau region, 40 in Zhambyl region, 58 in West Kazakhstan region, 85 in Karagandy region, 35 in Kostanai region, 33 in Kyzylorda region, 33 in Mangystau region, 22 in Pavlodar region, 45 in North Kazakhstan region and 27 in Turkistan region.

To date, there are 96,922 COVID-19 cases in Kazakhstan, including 12,530 in Nur-Sultan, 12,995 in Almaty, 5,070 in Shymkent, 2,928 in Akmola region, 3,085 in Aktobe region, 4,623 in Almaty region, 10,511 in Atyrau region, 7,045 in East Kazakhstan region, 3,804 in Zhambyl region, 6,160 in West Kazakhstan region, 9,160 in Karagandy region, 2,988 in Kostanai region, 3,143 in Kyzylorda region, 3,063 in Mangystau region, 3,469 in Pavlodar region, 3,419 in North Kazakhstan region and 2,929 in Turkistan region.

1,809 patients were reported to have recovered from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, their number in Kazakhstan increased to 70,680.

Kazakh Health Ministry also provided data on pneumonia cases with COVID-19 symptoms. 1,424 such cases and 18 deaths were registered in Kazakhstan in the last 24 hours. A total of 11,008 cases and 120 fatalities have been reported in the country since August 1.
