Kazakhstan closes several provisional hospitals as patient numbers decline
Provisional hospitals were temporarily closed in Kazakhstan due to the stabilization of the epidemiological situation. The hospital for coronavirus-infected patients deployed at the Halyk Arena sports complex in Almaty is among them, said Mayor of Almaty Bakytzhan Sagintayev during a live broadcast.

“As you know, Halyk Arena was converted into a hospital and equipped with beds. It was prepared to accommodate 1,000 patients. However, we have temporarily closed it. In case if our clinics do not have enough beds, we will reopen it and will receive patients at this complex. The relevant personnel have been trained and the arena has all the necessary equipment and medicines,” Sagintayev said.

The work of two provisional hospitals was suspended in Kostanai due to a decrease in the number of patients infected with coronavirus and pneumonia.

“In the regional center, provisional hospitals set up at the ‘Friendship’ sanatorium and the dermatological-venereal dispensary were closed,” Health department of Kostanai region stated.

A week ago, more precisely on the 30th of July, it was reported that a total of 15 provisional hospitals had already been closed in the country by that time.
