COVID-19 cases approach 5.5 million globally
Scientists of the Harvard University reported that animal trials of the coronavirus vaccine showed promising results. The medicine was injected into eight monkeys. After six months, there were no reinfection cases among the animals due to the developed immunity, the scientists said.
 
Such news inspire optimism, especially taking into account the latest data. According to the Johns Hopkins University, the number of global coronavirus cases is almost 5.5 million. Nearly 347,000 people have died since the beginning of the pandemic. More than 2.3 million fully recovered.
 
The United States has the biggest number of 1.7 million COVID-19 cases, followed by Brazil with 363,000 cases, Russia with 344,000, Spain with almost 283,000, the United Kingdom with nearly 260,000, Italy with approximately 230,000, France with more than 182,000, Germany with over 180,000, Turkey with nearly 157,000 and India with over 138,000.
