WHO: Nearly 40,000 New Coronavirus Cases in One Day

39,827 people were infected with coronavirus, and other 1,722 died in one day, bringing the global death toll to 16,231, the World Health Organization reported. The number of cases worldwide has reached 372,757.

The European countries have the biggest number of new cases, which is over 24,000. Italy, Spain and Germany have the biggest number of cases in Europe.

Nearly 12,500 new cases were reported in South and North America. The U.S. has the largest number of cases in the two Americas with over 42,000 people infected with Covid-19.

Extraordinary virtual G20 summit is planned for March 26, where leaders will discuss the global response to the pandemic.
