Businessmen of Kazakhstan and Poland intend to deepen cooperation
Astana EXPO 2017 gave a new impetus to bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Poland. As part of the large-scale event, European partners presented their innovations, as well as hold talks with their counterparts from other countries. First of all, Poland fascinated with its blue coal at the expo. In addition to the rich content, the country’s representatives paid attention to the design. The jury appreciated the unusual concept. Poland was awarded for the best design.
NINA DOBZHYNSKA, SPOKESWOMAN, POLISH ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT AGENCY:
- The golden award was a surprise to us. Our entire team is very happy. Moreover, I want to highlight that Poland was one of the expo’s most active participants. We organized many events like the Forest Day, Polish Day and Sports’ Day which were very popular. I want to thank the organizers! I think Kazakhstan has held the expo at high level! I'm confident that such a large-scale event is very rare.
Polish President Andrzej Duda visited the international exhibition. The honored guest held talks at the highest level and took part in the National Day of Poland at the expo. Experts highlight that Polish leader’s visit to Kazakhstan was very successful.
MARGULAN BAIMUKHAN, KAZAKH AMBASSADOR TO POLAND:
- Both Kazakh and Polish sides highly appreciate this visit. Indeed, the political contacts established last year during the visit of our President to Poland have continued as part of our big expo event, when Polish delegation led by President Andrzej Duda with more than 300 Polish representatives visited Astana to hold their business meeting. Undoubtedly, the meeting of the two heads of states gave an enormous political and economic impetus to our bilateral cooperation.
Entrepreneurs of both countries intend to strengthen cooperation, too. The Kazakh-Polish business forum, which took place as part of Astana EXPO 2017, gathered a record number of investors from Poland. The delegates discussed future projects, talked about joint ventures and signed several agreements.
PRZEMYSLAW SYPNIEWSKI, PRESIDENT, POCZTA POLSKA COMPANY:
- The expo in Astana was a great event! I’m very impressed not only by the exhibition, but also by the capital. I believe that the agreement signed with the Kazakh post will promote closer cooperation which means investments and joint projects in the long term. Kazakhstan is a very important partner. I want to highlight that we see great prospects in the Silk Road project.
JADWIGA EMILEWICZ, DEPUTY POLISH MINISTER OF DEVELOPMENT:
- Our investors say that they have excellent partners in Kazakhstan. We see that they are ready to invest. Since the beginning of the year, we have observed the growth of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Poland. Over the first two quarters, the growth has amounted to more than 60%. This is our joint success!
Kazakhstan and Poland are already actively cooperating in agriculture, construction and pharmaceuticals. According to experts, the countries have more promising directions in common. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the investment and raise the economic cooperation of the two countries to a new level.
