EXPO 2017: Culture days of Kyzylorda region
Regional culture days are held in Astana. Culture days of Kyzylorda region were held in the ethnic village located at ‘Kazanat’ racetrack. The venue turned into an oriental bazaar for ten days. Unique felt and leather crafts conveyed the originality of the Kazakh culture. Visitors can also attend pottery, felting and other master classes here.
AIGUL AITZHANOVA, VISITOR:
- I came from Almaty. The event was organized very well. Handicrafts are very valuable. I think that master classes in this ethnic village will be very useful for young people.
Nartai Bekezhanov Drama Theatre prepared a number of performances. On the first day, they staged ‘Korkyt’ by Iran-Gaiyp. The staging is about a mysterious life of the great musician of the Syrdaria valley.
HUSSEIN AMIR-TEMIR, HONORED WORKER OF KAZAKHSTAN:
- He was a great personality, not only for the Kazakh steppe but for the entire Turkic world. He was the creator of the kobyz. He shared his feelings and thoughts through this instrument. His melodies have become an invaluable musical heritage.
National sports competitions, concerts, as well as a fair of agricultural products of the Aral Sea region were held as part of the cultural days. The region’s delegates have also brought a number of innovative projects to EXPO 2017.
RINAT SULTANGEREYEV, SPOKESPERSON, GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF KYZYLORDA REGION:
- There is a presentation in our Kazakh pavilion. We have prepared videos about Kyzylorda region. There are four solar energy projects. One of our projects was approved by the Energy Ministry. 100 hectares of land have been allocated. A Kazakh investor is financing the project.
During the gala concert devoted to the Day of Kyzylorda region, there was a video conversation between the visitors and cosmonauts of the International Space Station
Thousands of visitors watched live broadcast from space on the big screen. Cosmonauts Fyodor Yurchikhin and Sergei Ryazansky greeted the Kazakhstanis and congratulated them on holding the international specialized exhibition EXPO 2017. They noted that the future of the energy lies in new technologies designed to foster development of all mankind.
