EXPO 2017: national days of The Dominican Republic and Guinea
The Dominican Republic plans to increase the share of renewables by third. Renewables help generate 800 megawatts of electricity annually. EXPO 2017 in Astana can become an excellent investment platform. This was announced by the Commissioner of the Dominican Republic pavilion during the celebration of the National Day. He added that his country is eager to cooperate with Kazakhstan and this is a mutual interest.
HANS DANNENBERG CASTELLANOS, COMMISSIONER OF DOMINICAN REPUBLIC PAVILION:
- We already consider Kazakhstan as a strategic partner in central Asia. Our country is inspiring to become a non-prominent member of the United Nations in the Council in 2019 as Kazakhstan is today. If we win Kazakhstan will surely have a friend in this important international volume.
The Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Trade of Guinea Balla Dopavogui also shared the opinion about EXPO 2017 that it is exactly a place which attracts investors. As part of the international exhibition, representatives of this African state have celebrated their National Day in Astana, too.
BALLA DOPAVOGUI, CHIEF OF STAFF, TRADE MINISTRY OF GUINEA:
- Currently, we have a plan until 2020 which is to provide 65% of the population with electricity. We have the resources but we need investments. In order to develop hydropower in Guinea, it is necessary to work in this direction. We are happy to be here and we look for opportunities of cooperation.
