Kazakhstan’s Ethnic Assembly finalizes online festival dedicated to Day of Abai

The Assembly of People of Kazakhstan sums up the results of the online festival dedicated to the Day of Abai. The contest generated a huge response.

In the beginning, the organizers planned that it will be 175 representatives of ethnic groups from all regions of the country who would participate in the contest. However, the jury kept receiving more and more of new videos every day – more than 700 works in total. The majority of them were the poems and translations of the great poet performed in Kazakh. The contestants read 127 works in other languages. More than 100 people decided to perform songs. The main requirement was to recite any excerpt belonging to the authorship of Abai Kunanbaiuly and post a video with the performance on social media.

Deputy Chairperson of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan Zhanseit Tuimebayev did not stand aside either. He recorded the 37th Word of Edification of Abai. All videos were posted on the website of Kazakhstan’s Ethnic Assembly and its social media accounts, including Facebok, Instagram, VK (originally Vkontakte), Youtube, Telegram, as well as various information sites.
