Unique edition of Abai’s ‘Words of Edification’ enters Kazakhstan’s Book of Records
A 27-kilogram book, specially made for the 175th birth anniversary of Abai Kunanbaiuly, was presented to the Auezov Centralized Library located in the village of Karauyl of East Kazakhstan region. According to the Internal Policy Department of Abai district, the unique edition of the book was made in Shymkent at the initiative of the secondary evening school №1.
“Anyone can come see and study the book,” Head of the Internal Policy Department of Abai district in East Kazakhstan region Burkhan Muratov said.
The exclusive book has already been included in the Book of Records of Kazakhstan. Its height is 122 centimeters, width – 90 centimeters, and the page thickness is nearly two or three centimeters. The cover of the book is made of vinyl.
“We plan to exhibit the book in the Historical-Cultural and Literary-Memorial Reserve-Museum of Abai ‘Zhidebai-Borili’,” said Director of the Auezov Centralized Library Dina Kamal.
After the ceremony of presenting the unique book to the library, the audience sang songs and read poems of the great Kazakh poet and philosopher Abai.
