Astana Ballet presents online broadcast of Kazakh productions
The Astana Ballet Theater will for the first time launch an online broadcast of its own performances Zhusan and the Legacy of the Great Steppe. These high-level performances were fully staged by the Kazakh choreographers. The artists tried to convey in their performances the indomitable spirit of the Kazakh people and to tell through dance about the darkest and brightest pages of a Kazakh history.
“This is an historic moment for the Astana Ballet Theater, because we had never broadcasted the performances of our own production online yet. The quarantine restrictions do not allow us to invite the audience to our performances as before. Currently, we are mastering new ways of communicating with our public. We launched a number of online projects with the support of the Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Sports. A special project ‘Theater online’ presents a series of informative live broadcasts on Instagram with the world ballet stars. In addition, our leading soloists will give online performance in a live broadcast on Youtube as part of the ‘Star in Quarantine’ project. Of course, we would like to mark the upcoming holidays on 7th and 9th of May. If it wasn’t a coronavirus lockdown, we would show these performances on our stage, but due to the fact that the quarantine restrictions were extended until May 11, we decided not to leave our public without a great ballet art,” said Alexander Sovostyanov, the Director of the Astana Ballet Theater.
The online broadcast of the performances is dedicated to the Defender’s Day in Kazakhstan and the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Second World War. The online broadcast of the ‘Legacy of the Great Steppe’ will be held on May 7 at 8 pm. The online broadcast of ‘Zhusan’ will be held on May 9 at 8 pm. The broadcast will be free for all users and will be held on the Astana Ballet Youtube channel.
