Kazakh ensemble 'Nomad' has won an award in Bulgaria
Kazakh talents are gaining success on international stages. At the 18th international ‘Roses of Obzor’ competition of choreographic art in Bulgaria, Kazakh ensemble ‘Nomad’ won the first-degree prize. The winners were welcomed as heroes in Kazakhstan by the whole army of supporters, including parents and friends of the dancers. At the prestigious festival, the Kazakh team performed eight folk dances in front of the jury members. This year, dance teams from Russia, Ukraine and other countries competed for the grand prize.
AINAGUL NURGAZINA, HEAD OF ENSEMBLE:
- We performed folk dances of the world, such as Chinese and Mexican dances. We demonstrated our traditional dances as well. Russian dance teams were especially good. Their choreography was outstanding. However, we managed to become the first degree laureates and we are very happy.
DIANA DUYSSENOVA, MEMBER OF ENSEMBLE:
- It was a very good competition. I was very impressed by Bulgaria. It is a very sunny country and I enjoyed staying there. There are many beautiful sites to visit in Bulgaria.
ARUZHAN MAZHIT, MEMBER OF ENSEMBLE:
- I’ve been dancing in the ‘Nomad’ dance ensemble for a year. It is our first visit to Bulgaria. I am very happy that we demonstrated the Kazakh traditions, art and dances to visitors of the festival.
