Carpet weaving is one of the oldest art forms of the peoples of Central Asia. It reflects the centuries-old historical ties. Traditional ornaments are closely tied to the lifestyle, cultural exchanges of the people who had lived in the vast land of Central Asia. It is also an important historical source, which carries information about the beliefs and values of these people. The carpet on the wall of the Turkmen Carpet Museum in Ashgabat was included in the Guinness Book of Records in 2003. Its size is 300 square meters. It took eight months and 40 weavers to complete the carpet. Now the carpet is no longer the largest in the world, but tourists still come to the museum to see it.
