‘Kazakh yurt’ festival took place in Eastern Kazakhstan
The ‘Kazakh yurt’ festival took place in Eastern Kazakhstan. The event which attracts local residents and visitors has been held for over 10 years. This year, participants built 20 felt yurts with interior decorations decorated in the national traditions of the nomads. Unique traditional objects of the life of Kazakhs, collections of national clothes and sets of jewelry are presented in the yurts. Guests were shown ancient rituals and explained about their meaning. The most beautiful yurt design was the Abai district yurt.
ZHANAT KHAISINA, FESTIVAL PARTICIPANT:
- We brought three yurts from the Abai district for this festival including the main yurt of great Abai. We prepared thoroughly for the event. We sewed yurts and made jewelries to decorate them.
