The fund of Kazakhstan’s National Academic Library was filled with books by Italian writers. The Italian Embassy to Kazakhstan donated the books. Now visitors can access books of famous world classics like Dante, Petrarch, Marco Polo, Umberto Eco and contemporary Italian authors. Along with the art literature, publications about Italy’s history, culture, art, life and architecture are widely presented. Students studying Italian got textbooks. According to the library, the action is designed to promote cultural rapprochement between the two countries.
STEFANO RAVAGNAN, ITALIAN AMBASSADOR TO KAZAKHSTAN:
- In the future we will cooperate and replenish the fund with new interesting books. For example, Marco Polo’s famous has been translated into Kazakh and will soon be published. The traveler's work was written in Italian and French and will be available in Kazakh for the first time. The book will be presented very soon.
UMITKHAN MUNALBAYEVA, DIRECTOR, KAZAKHSTAN’S NATIONAL ACADEMIC LIBRARY:
- We can say that a book serves as an ambassador of the world. Thanks to it, people learn about culture and history. Therefore, we are pleased that the Italian Embassy presented us such a gift. This will increase the number of readers.
