Fashion show features traditional garments
Astana hosted a fashion show of children’s traditional costumes, “The look of the Nation”. Fashion designers Kairolly and Rakhima Abishevas presented exclusive works to guests. Domestic designers reflected national motifs and colors through their collections. Therefore, every image was unique which demonstrated a special symbiosis of ethnic and modern costumes. The National Museum and the ‘Inkar sezim’ public foundation organized the show.
SERGEY SADYKOV, MEMBER OF EURASIAN DESIGNERS UNION, FASHION CRITIC:
- The children's collection by the fashion studio of Kairolly Abisheva represents the elements of ethnic culture. Today the collection was presented as Tumar because this element of national ornament is present in each suit. We are promoting Kazakhstan’s culture with elements of national ornament. Perhaps, we will create more works of art.
The youngest fashion models showcased ethnic styles on the runway. The winners of the international children's fashion festival took part in the fashion show. According to the models, they found expressive the costumes with national symbols.
- I like this show since I’ve met interesting people and have seen very interesting costumes. For example, my costume depicts the popular Kazakh ornament, a mutton horn. I truly like this element. I think that we should introduce the world to our culture.
The organizers promise that such events will become traditional. The show increases the interest in national culture and art as well as contributes to studying traditions. As part of the show, the Sheber museum's circles and a local art studio presented the children's works to the guests and participants.
