A book about the deported Germans to Kazakhstan was published
Astana hosted a presentation of the book "Long path to the meeting” by Bulat Mekebayev and the book illustrations. The collection includes the novel “Dawn to Dusk”, the story "The Sky of the East" as well as poems. The author narrates about the fate of the deported Germans from the Volga region and Ukraine during the Great Patriotic War. According to Bulat Mekebayev, the novel was based on the real story of Raphael Schnell and his family, whom the writer met in Germany. The first edition of the book was published in Europe and the first presentation of the book took place in Moscow at the Bulgakov House.

- The novel is about 12 year old boy Raphael Schnell who was deported to the Akmola region and he must have survived. He has a big family: three brothers, a dad, a mother, a grandfather and a grandmother. This novel is about his sufferings in the camps.
The Moscow, Kokshetau, Petropavl, Astana and Almaty readers were already introduced to the book. Now the author plans to translate the novel into German and present it in Germany and other European countries.
