The book about Nursultan Nazarbayev "Near the First" was awarded the diploma of the International contest of the CIS countries "Art of Book" in the "Commonwealth" nomination. The solemn awarding ceremony was held as part of the 30th Moscow Book Fair. The folio was published under the editorship of the former ambassador, Marat Tazhin, and the authors are the like-minded people of the President. They created a detailed historical panorama of the quarter-century development of Kazakhstan’s independence. The authors describe the facts and events they were involved in.
GEORGY PRYAKHIN, DIRECTOR, ‘ART LITERATURE’ PUBLISHING HOUSE:
- This book is about the President. It describes working moments, for instance, how Astana was built, what sort of difficulties had to be faced during the construction, how relations with Western investors were built. The book unveils the personality of the President, the path the President his apparatus and the nation went along.
KONSTANTIN KOSACHEV, CHAIR OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE OF FEDERATION COUNCIL:
- To my opinion, writing the book ‘Near the First’ was a good idea. It gives an opportunity to look at the work, creativity and life of the President from the very close distance, truly realize the scale of his personality. The idea of Eurasianism dominating the world is, of course, the personal merit of the President of Kazakhstan. It’s great that readers have an opportunity to trace how this concept was emerging.
The book reveals interesting nuances of building relations of Kazakhstan with the outside world, heads of international organizations, vividly and in detail describes the main stages of the political development of the country as a regional interethnic leader that actively participates in solving global issues.
VLADIMIR GRIGORYEV, DEPUTY HEAD OF FEDERAL PRESS AND MASS COMMUNICATIONS AGENCY:
- Apparently, that is why the book was so appreciated, Kazakhstan’s governance has always been rational. Stop, look back, think about the future, look into the past, value your history, your culture - this basis lets you make decisions, especially to develop a strategy for the development of the country.
The presentation of the book in Moscow last year sparked huge interest among Russian public.
