American violist Dennis Krasnokutsky performed in Astana Opera
Kazakhstan is not just showcasing the world’s latest innovative developments but also holding large-scale cultural events. Famous American violist Dennis Krasnokutsky has performed in Astana Opera for the first time. The recognized virtuoso gave a concert program together with the soloists of Kazakhstan’s leading opera theatre.
BAGDAT ABILKHANOV, ORCHESTRAL SOLOIST, ASTANA OPERA THEATER:
- The cycle ‘Musical Crossing’ is the collaboration of musicians on the stage of Astana Opera. It was named ‘Musical Crossing’ cycle because it launches the upcoming large scale project.
The concert included the masterpieces of both classical and Kazakh music, as well as entirely new works. American composer Mauricio Bignon wrote a composition for violin, viola and orchestra named "Ikebana" specially for this project. The new and inspiring work was appreciated by the Kazakh audience.
DENNIS KRASNOKUTSKY, AMERICAN MUSICIAN:
- We decided to bring a very unusual program, a potpourri with a lot of outstanding composers from America, Georgia, and Kazakhstan. The concert even features modern composers’ works that have never been played anywhere. They will be premiered here in Kazakhstan.
As the project organizers say, the event is one of those that brings together famous soloists and creates magical atmosphere. Invited artists also gave master classes for Kazakh theaters’ instrumentalists. Such cooperation is important for training the Kazakh musicians.
