«ASTANA KESHTERI» CLASSICAL MUSIC FESTIVAL
Traditionally, «Astana Keshteri» music festival brought together prominent German, Italian, U.S. and Russian musicians who gave an unforgettable four-day concert. The first day of the festival was held in Astana Opera Theatre. Soloists performed the masterpieces of world art under the accompaniment of the symphonic orchestra at the Astana Opera hall. Astana Keshteri is a charitable project. The festival organizers let a large audience enjoy musical masterpieces.
TIMUR URMANCHEYEV, PROJECT’S ARTISTIC DIRECTOR:
- This is a charitable concert. We invite everyone to the best concert halls of Astana. Tickets for the highest attended concerts are distributed free of charge. This is its distinctive feature.
The audience enjoyed the performance of a young but well-known cello player Alexander Ramm. The musician says his performances are scheduled years ahead, however, he was happy to receive an invitation to take part in a famous Kazakhstani project.
ALEXANDER RAMM, CELLO PLAYER, RUSSIA:
- Unfortunately, I couldn’t participate last year because the first season was very tight after the International Tchaikovsky Competition. However, I was very grateful to receive the invitation for this year. Today, we will perform one of the most famous works for cello and orchestra ‘Variations on a Rococo Theme’ by Tchaikovsky.
Chamber-vocal music concert was held as part of ‘Astana Keshteri’ festival this year. The leading Astana Opera soloist Maira Mukhamedkyzy performed at the concert. Jazz music lovers were pleased by the performance of the legendary American musician five-time winner of the Grammy Award, Randy Brecker.
