ASTANA OPERA HOSTS CONCERT DEDICATED TO MOZART
Like sparkling splashes of champagne sounded the music of the great Mozart on the stage of Astana Opera theater. Artists performed classical masterpieces of the greatest composer of all time and nations. Under the direction of maestro Abzal Mukhitdinov, the chamber orchestra of the theater has performed some of Mozart’s most recognized pieces like "Little Night Serenade", "Hallelujah", an overture to the opera "The Magic Flute,".
ABZAL MUKHITDINOV, CONDUCTOR:
- Music and especially, Mozart’s music, of course, carries light, joy, kindness and love for humankind. The music is very light and during the first days of May this music is in harmony with the weather in Astana. This music is very bright and is about love and youth. There are some sad undertones, but they convey sweet sadness.
The real highlight of the evening was the performance by a virtuoso violinist Galiya Bisengalieva. A laureate of international competitions, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music in London, she has become a worthy representative of the Kazakh performing arts both overseas and at home. Bisengalieva is a bright representative of a famous musical dynasty. Her father, Sagadat Bisengaliyev, is a famous violinist who tragically died many years ago. Galiya gave the concert as a tribute to her father.
GALIYA BISENGALIEVA, VIOLINIST:
- Mozart was my father’s favorite composer, and he often played this violin concerto. I wanted to dedicate this composition to him because this year he would be 60 years old. He studied at the Moscow Conservatoryand he was a famous accompanist of the Kazakh Symphony Orchestra of the Zhambyl Philharmonic which he founded and, having this in mind, I’m glad to perform tonight.
The concert became a real revelation for true connoisseurs of classical music. A virtuoso performance by the Kazakh artists let the listeners to immerse themselves into the works of the great Mozart.
